I have been watching? a series called 24. It has left me feeling very insecure. They seem to be able to trace people and they seem to be able to know exactly where a person has been and what a person has done over the last few years or even more.
They say America is the land of the free. However, I suspect that it is only “free” on the surface because if they can monitor you constantly then you are no longer free. Big Brother is watching!
I found a place where you can freely have political debates. The rules and regulations are minimal. And at least it can offer a way to vent out any political irritations that we have!! It is also good because we can get different views and opinions too!
And you never know who might be reading!!
It really gets my goat that in the civilized world we have gun crime. When I see kids get killed as a result of gun crime, my blood boils. Apparently it is not ok to punish or smack a child but it is ok to have gun crime.
Until crime gets just desserts (fair sentences) then crime will remain. When someone gets life for killing someone, they should be imprisoned for the rest of their life and not 13 years! After all the person they killed will not wake from the dead because life is now just a number of years!
Malta relatively recently (around 10 years ago) introduced Postcodes. They gave each postcode 3 letters and 2 numbers eg ABC12. The first 3 letters signified the town eg SGN = San Gwann and STJ = St Julian’s. There were a few semi odd ones too like ZBR for Marsascala (It is near Zabbar!). The numbers should have been a grid of sorts.
However this did not seem to work for them. They have changed the postcode system already. They now consist of 3 letters and 4 numbers eg ABC1234! The letters have mostly remained the same but some have changed eg Marsascala has become MSK.
When you consider how tiny Malta is you wonder why they need such a large system to get the postcode sorted. Even the USA (who incidentally have a city called Malta) have only a 5 digit postcoode eg Beverley Hills is 90210. The UK postcode is split into two letters upto 3 numbers and 2 letters – AB12 3CD. The first 2 letters splits the country eg TW = Thames West and the rest is a grid system.
So, Malta needs a more complex system than the US and the Uk combined despite it being smaller than some cities in the UK and US!
RevLeft.com leftist discussion forums? are simply that – forums where socialists are welcome to discuss anything. Considering that socialism is meant to be about equality, how can they justify needing forums for discussion. If everyone were equal and thought equally, would that not eliminate the need for discussion?
