Gun Crime

Posted by grumbler on August 24th, 2007 — Posted in Lamentations, Penny Thoughts, Political Correctness, Politics, The World Today

It really gets my goat that in the civilized world we have gun crime. When I see kids get killed as a result of gun crime, my blood boils. Apparently it is not ok to punish or smack a child but it is ok to have gun crime.

Until crime gets just desserts (fair sentences) then crime will remain. When someone gets life for killing someone, they should be imprisoned for the rest of their life and not 13 years! After all the person they killed will not wake from the dead because life is now just a number of years!

Honour or not!

A father ordered his daughter killed because she had an affair with a man. In other words - for having a boyfriend.

Apparently it was ok to rape and kill his daughter in the name of honour than to let her have a partner. Pretty Sick.

Let’s Ban Heterosexuals!

Posted by grumbler on May 28th, 2007 — Posted in Lamentations, Political Correctness, Racism, The World Today

Let’s Ban Heterosexuals! Let us also get legislation to allow us to do so!

You read correctly. A pub in Australia has been legally granted the ability to ban heterosexuals from their pub.

I would love to see a pub being allowed to ban homosexuals from a pub! Not that it really makes a difference to me as I hardly ever frequent pubs, but I thought we were living in a politically correct world where sauce for the goose was also sauce for the gander. But apparently sauce for the gander is not also sauce for the goose!

Oh and the other point…. how do they intend to identify sexuality?

Fine for quavers

Posted by grumbler on May 21st, 2007 — Posted in Political Correctness, Strange But True, The World Today

A? fine of £80 was given because of some quavers which fell for a toddler. Now quavers are biodegradable and would quite quickly be picked up by birds as food. Yet people who smoke and drop their ash and throw their butts on the floor do not seem to get fined.

Sad world we live in!

Finger Prints Required

Posted by grumbler on April 23rd, 2007 — Posted in Government Issues, Lamentations, Political Correctness, The World Today, Travel, blog

I felt sick to my guts when I found out that for me to enter the USA I need to have my finger prints taken. Perhaps the reason that I feel this way is that I associate having finger prints taken with loss of rights and criminals. I feel that it unjustified to request my fingerprints just to visit a country! I thought we were trying to make the world a smaller place and not create greater barriers.

What will the next step be? A urine specimen, a blood sample and a hair strand before access can be granted!

Human Rights

Someone else is in the news trying to fight for the right to implant her embryos. This person found out she had cancer and to conserve her chances of having a family in the future she resorted to cryopreservation and IVF. This was her only hope of a family. She had the choice of freezing her eggs or freezing her embryos. The chances of success are better with Embryos than Eggs. She was in what she thought was a stable relationship and as a couple they made the decision to have a child together and created the embryos.

Their relationship did not work.

Now he is refusing consent for her to replace the embryos and is insisting that the embryos are left to perish!

He agreed to father her children. Assuming that she had already conceived when they broke up would he have insisted on an abortion? Assuming that they actually had the child, would he have insisted on murdering the child.

When he agreed to creating embryos, he agreed to creating life. Is it fair that he kills off the life created?

This is all aside from the fact that he screwed up this woman’s chances of ever having a child by refusing to allow implantation. Should he not have refused consent originally, when she had the opportunity, albeit smaller opportunity, to just freeze? her eggs rather than embryos? Should he not be responsible for his actions? Should the embryo not be given a chance to live? Does this embryo not have human rights?

Jolie Adopts again!

Why is it because Jolie is a celebrity, her adoption gets fast tracked? Most people suffer to get their adoptions and some never manage, but hey if you are a celebrity, then your paper work gets sorted quickly! It sucketh!

Taxing the Nation!

Posted by grumbler on March 1st, 2007 — Posted in Government Issues, Political Correctness, The World Today, blog

My partner and I have recently been having a discussion about taxes and the economy. I feel that you should not be taxed on the income that you earned. By working, you are doing a good thing and should not be punished for it by having it taxed.

My partner raised the point of how would the government cover its costs. I explained that some costs may not need to be covered eg having limos for mp’s. The other costs can be raised by corresponding things. For example, the roads need to be maintained. The roads are for drivers. The amount of fuel you use is directly related to the amount of road you use. Hence increase the cost of fuel in order to maintain roads. We on the other hand can afford these increase because the government has not taken a substantial amount from our salary! Oh, and there is no need for CCTV everywhere. The amount of fuel you use corresponds to the amount you use the car. The government need not be big brother and monitor us continually. Besides which, monitoring would cost a fortune which is an UNNECESARY cost!

Other taxes can be raised according to use. This would mean that if we chose to save our money we can, and we would only spend money on what we can afford. Yes I am aware that this means that the cost of goods will go up. But so will our salaries. We will finally earn what we really work for.

It would also mean, that people would have to work. There will be a reduction in unemployment because people may be motivated to work. And the people who do not work, will not be able to bum the system any more, as they too will be contributing to the economy!

As my partner pointed out, this will not happen as it will be political suicide for anyone who dares suggest raising the cost of products even if it means giving us back our full salary.

But the question is…. what do you think about it?

Speaking English is a requirement!

Posted by admin on February 12th, 2007 — Posted in Lamentations, Political Correctness, The World Today, blog

Finally they have seen the light. It has been announced that unemployed people seeking benefits must be able to speak English!

Personally, I believe that if you move to a country, you oblige yourself to learn the native language of the country. While in Rome, do as the Romans do!

It has suddenly dawned on the UK government to only give benefits to people who can speak English. Well done.

This will hopefully result in huge tax savings and erm perhaps tax reductions! Savings will not only be made by not paying huge amounts to people who refuse to learn English yet expect to live in England and claim English people’s money & currency, but also by not having to needlessly print the same documentation in 22 different languages such as Urdu, Chinese, Arabic* etc.

Now the only question that remains, is how to decide who can speak English and who cannot. Do see my lamentation on…. Why can’t the English!

*No offence is meant by the languages selected. They are just 3 languages that popped to my mind that leaflets are most probably printed in!

The Law & the Lawless!

Posted by admin on February 2nd, 2007 — Posted in Lamentations, Political Correctness, The World Today, blog

Why is it that far too often the law does not protect the innocent but protects the guilty!

You really need examples?

Well, the recent case of the paedophile who escaped prison as the prisons are too full.

I had an employee who was harassed by a 15 year old and when he refused to give in to her, she reported him to the police for sexually assaulting her. Needless to say, it was untrue but not until it went to court several months later and several arguments with his wife who began to have doubts!

I was physically assaulted by someone I caught stealing from my shop and the police refused to take action saying there was not enough evidence despite having shop CCTV evidence, witnesses and street CCTV!

An employee caught stealing but without evidence. I was advised to get evidence, which I did. And police refused to take action because she said she was going to pay for them. They would not let her leave the shop with them or it would be theft, but then the accepted that she was going to pay for them. As for the previous theft… apparently you cannot use one to prove the other! She got away with a laptop and £700+ which was charity money!

Ah well….c’est la vie I suppose! I guess sometimes it pays to be guilty!
