Never be Rude

Never be rude…. especially not when asking for directions!!

Do I really need to explain this one? Fine… be rude!

Laughter

“The most wasted of all? days is one without laughter”. E E. Cummings

That is so true. Laughter is after all the best medicine. Yet if you smile at a stranger, they are most likely to scowl at you as though you are throwing daggers at them. Yet a simple smile can lift that heavy feeling and make the world feel a better place. Smiling is tantamount to the sun shining upon you.

Go on, I know it has been a while since you smiled, but stretch your mouth so it spreads across your face. That’s it… you are doing it!! :) Doesn’t that feel good?

Change?

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”? Leo Tolstoy

Now if we could change ourselves, perhaps we can change the world too?

Je Ne Regrette Rien

“Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable”. Sydney J. Harris

I must say I really agree with Sydney J. Harris because regret is the worst sin of all. I learnt very quickly to try to never regret anything. And that must be one of the best decisions I have even made. It taught me to stop regretting mistakes and enjoy living for the moment. And as a result I have been able find opportunity where I have least expected.

A rather unusual positive thought for Carper Diem…. but then we all have our good days!

Forgive and Forget

Forgive and Forget. I really cannot say I agree with that. Forgive by all means. It is two fold. It gives you the ability to let it go and you can also carry on with your life. But forget… that I don’t advise. You can say that I am a cold hearted cruel person but I am not. I believe in protecting the self and once bitten twice shy.

It is up to you what you do, but frankly don’t expect me to forget what you have done to me!

Lust

Is lusting after someone - cheating?

To some people cheating is the result of actually sleeping with another person. Yet I sometimes feel that being emotionally involved with someone else is more unfaithful than just sleeping with someone just for the sex. I think most men will see that as an excuse, but I do not mean to reduce the fact that sleeping with someone is also cheating.

I would be far more upset with my partner if he was emotionally involved with someone than having a one night stand with a blonde bombshell who was begging for it!

Plastic Surgery

Is Plastic Surgery just for shallow people? Or is there more to it than meets the eye?

I feel there are at least? two facets to plastic surgery. Having Rhinoplasty because your nose is too small / too large is well very self centered. However having breast surgery after a masectomy is definately the thing to do. Dealing with Cancer is a big enough issue without actually having to cope with the destruction of your body too.

Having said that,? I don’t condemn having plastic surgery to make one look and feel good. Not sure if I could cope with the pain though!

Blessed are those…

Blessed are those who are cracked… for they let in the light!

Comedy

Comedy is simply a funny way of being serious — Peter Ustinov (1921-2004)

So is being serious a way of being funny? It would explain politicians!!

Subtlety

“Subtlety is the art of saying what you think and getting out of the way before it is understood!” Anon.

I don’t think I have any subtlety at all.? Perhaps I could do with a bit! Or perhaps alot!
