Happy New Year

Posted by grumbler on January 1st, 2011 — Posted in blog, Uncategorized

I know that I have neglected the site over the last few months… but it is new year and with new year come new resolutions…. so here is mine… to keep Carper Diem updated… after all it is not that I have become so mellow that I no longer need to grumble…. but that I am always so short of time… but here is to finding some… and being able to get things off my chest. Meanwhile… Hope you have a year without too much trouble, agitation and ignorant customer service!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

Posted by grumbler on January 1st, 2009 — Posted in blog, Lamentations

New Year is a time for new beginings. We all screw up along the year. And as the year sets in, we tend to set in our problems. But I always find that taking the new year as an opportunity to right some wrongs, always makes me feel less of a grumbler. So for today… lets Carpe Diem rather than Carper Diem.

Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas

Despite politicians thinking that Christmas should be removed from schools and nativity plays banned…. I think Bah Humbug to them and Merry Christmas to the rest of us.

Considering we live in a Christian Country with our head of state being our head of church also, I think removing Christmas because we may offend people who have chosen to come and live in our Christian country is ridiculous. Our Culture is what makes us who we are… so let us go and celebrate in what we believe in.

Merry Christmas to each and everyone one…. Christians, Muslims and Jews alike!

Plagiarised Again!

Argh!! I found another of my posts – The NHS has been ripped off by some website called Dr Quality!! Needless to say I am not amused!!

GRRRRR

Being Plagiarised!

Posted by grumbler on August 31st, 2008 — Posted in blog, Lamentations

Can you believe it, someone stole one of my posts. Frankly it wasn’t even one of my better posts but a lamentation about weight loss!! Yet they had the cheek to actually post it as though it was one of their own. They did not even bother crediting where they stole the post from (though they did say grumbler wrote it – reducing legal issues I guess).

Frankly I don’t mind people quoting me or referring to what I said, but the least that could be done is give due credit where it belongs. A little link love would not go amiss either!

The way it is posted makes it seem like I am a subscriber writing my post on their blog.

The reality is, they stole it from my blog from this post :- Fat Loss For Idiots.

This leaves me as a very unhappy bunny and I am not sure I can actually do anything about it other than grumble…. GRRRRR!

Any Key

Blogging

Posted by grumbler on January 25th, 2008 — Posted in blog

I do like it when a retail website gives you more than just products. The Ballet Shop? has just added a blog and they are using it to speak about Ballet, Dance and the world of Dance besides their products. It also means you can give your feedback publicly via comments. Perhaps more shops should consider adding a blog.

Not a bad idea at all.

The 3 R’s

Posted by grumbler on January 13th, 2008 — Posted in blog, Political Correctness, The World Today

I must say it is quite unusual to find a shop that so strongly believes in the 3 R’s. In case you are wondering what the 3 R’s are, they are – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Personally I am a strong believer in the 3 R’s. I feel we waste too much generally speaking. I mean, I must admit that I am one of the first to buy rather than fix. You see I do feel that when fixing something costs almost as much as a new one, I would rather go with a new one where I know it will be under guarantee and is unlikely to break down in the near future. Besides the cost often justifies buying the new product rather than fix. This does not mean that I do not still try to follow the 3 R rule. I do recycle all my unwanted paper and glass, I try to reuse my plastic bags, I try to buy lose fruit and vegetables rather than heavily packaged and where I can fix at a reasonable cost, well obviously, I fix. Anyway, it is nice to know that there are shops who also try to follow the 3R rule. Makes me feel that little bit better.
